Shir Etgar, Ph.D, (she/her) is a post-doctoral researcher at the Couples Lab in the Department of Psychology, Columbia University. Before joining the lab, she completed her Ph.D. in Social Psychology at Tel Aviv University. Dr. Etgar studies the interrelations between technology usage and individuals' social-cognitive, cognitive, and social processes. Precisely, her research captures the impact of new technologies and new media on how individuals construct and interpret their online and offline environments, with the goal of improving individuals' social and cognitive abilities in the digital era. To explore these phenomena, Dr. Etgar uses varied quantitative research methods, including Bayesian models, multilevel models, meta-analyses, experiments, and correlational studies.
